If you are receiving unemployment benefits and are interested in training, you may be eligible for California Training Benefits, which would allow you to receive training while receiving unemployment insurance benefits. Please refer to your unemployment insurance claim handbook for information.

Unemployment Benefits
Workers Compensation Vouchers
Workers' compensation is a state-mandated insurance program that provides special benefits to employees who suffer job-related injuries and illnesses. In general, an employee with a work-related illness or injury can get workers’ compensation benefits regardless of who was at fault – the employee, the employer, a co-worker, a customer, or some other third party. In exchange for these guaranteed benefits, employees usually do not have the right to sue the employer in court for damages for those injuries.
Trade Adjustment Act (TAA)
Under the TAA (Trade Adjustments Act), the Federal Government has granted millions of dollars in emergency grant vouchers to help those who were laid off because their job was sent to foreign countries. We can easily help you see if you qualify for these benefits and get you set up for retraining so you will have the skills to find a new job.
Being laid off because your job went overseas was not your fault. The federal and state TAA programs and our training resources can help you get the skills you need to start a new career.
GI Bill
Modesto Technical College, located in the California, is recognized by the State of California Bureau and is approved for the training of Veterans. Our approved status allows military Veterans and their immediate families who are entitled to funding under the GI Bill chapter 30 and chapter 33 to receive an appropriate payment from the Veterans Administration for training received at Modesto Technical College.
Older Unemployed Veterans Eligible for new Benefits
Unemployed Veterans may be able to apply for the newly approved GI Bill. This benefit provides up to 12 months of Montgomery GI Bill benefits for unemployed veterans aged 35 -60.
